Great Lakes Ice Racing
AMEC has been doing this for 60-odd years now and the various officers have the process of measuring ice thickness down to a science. The Lakes Region Ice Racing Club, of Moltonborough, N. H., is one of several organizations in New England that hold races in the winter on frozen ponds - once they reach a certain thickness, of course.
