It is of very great height, and being eternally covered with snow, is seen at a great distance. The Forest Learning Center has a fascinating movie on the Mt Saint Helens eruption, and the long road to recovery and re-forestation undertaken by the Weyerhaeuser logging company. Those insects will bite! The visitor center has a seismograph showing the current volcanic activity on Mt St Helens as well as a step in volcano model which is pretty cool!
