I think it was the most serious of all her books as it deals with anxiety and grief. These are three of the main characters in the book. Just like all the Fenton County books, this series focuses heavily on romance, but it was the other themes that were touched on that really had me connecting with this book, especially the topics of grief, anxiety, and blame.
But I felt it, and the story covered in The Fell, is just not enough to satisfy me as a reader. I've been eagerly awaiting Can't Catch My Breath since Sarah Sutton dropped the cover and blurb reveal. Both Addy and Vincent felt like real people who I spent time with. I'm working through my own guilt in light of her death, and it may seem a little strange to others, but I found comfort in CCMB. Addy is my favourite MC of Sarahs and Vincent is my favourite Love Interest yet. After all the wrong things Addy had done, I was so excited to see her own up to things and apologize. The most intense yet from Sarah Sutton's novel 'Can't Catch My Breath' handles some heavy topics – grief and mental health specifically, and it was good to see how Sarah's writing evolved to include those issues and subject matters. Her 16-year-old son, Matt, is also cooped up in their small moor-side cottage, amusing himself with online gaming and eating copious amounts of food. The author's lyrical yet restrained style is so lovely, and here again the prose is a stream of consciousness style that feels right in the claustrophobic context.
Where Moss has written a book based on COVID, Hall wrote a book inspired by COVID. Overall a fantastic read. These were maybe some of Sarah's best characters to date. It was a rollercoaster of emotions, it hooked me from the very beginning (and even before starting it) and didn't let me go even after turning the last page.

I ended 2020 and began 2021 reading Moss's entire canon back to back - to say I enjoy her writing immensely is an understatement. So, I shoved everything aside for this one and, to be honest, it is a bit of a disappointment. Once I adjusted to the stream-of-consciousness narrative, I was completely reeled into this relatively short but immersive novel. We also hear from her elderly neighbour, Alice who sees her go, and from xxx, part of the mountain rescue team that is called out after Kate fails to return home.
