I use Original Gun Oil on all my firearms. That said, I only disagree in principle. All times are GMT -4. I had made a video of how to clean, field strip and reassemble your M&P Shield 9 mm EZ, and one of the comments I received on the video was from someone who got his slide stuck. Zero failures to feed or to eject. The grip angle is very much a natural pointer for me, and the mediocre sights came right up in line with my eyes every time. Anybody else experience this?

I have about 500 rounds through mine and it's a lot smoother now. The M&P 45 SHIELD has a two-piece hinged set up. M&p shield 9mm slide won't lock back plate. If you are in this predicament, DO NOT WORRY! When brand new the recoil spring is extremely stiff, slide feels like it rides roughly on the rails, and slide stop feels like it's impossible to engage. In my opinion, this is where you should be working on the gun. Has plenty of free play without the magazine.

Once you have located it, push up on the slide-stop lever until it cannot go any farther up. REASONS FOR LOCKING THE SLIDE BACK. It may feel like it's all the way to the back, but it's really just a "hump" that you need to clear to engage the slide stop. I attached some photos of the issue.

The slide lock works fine on my. 45, this gun is a value that's hard to beat. Don't take the gun from them and do it for them. Some report it gets easier after shooting a bunch. Shooting standing at 50 yards, I easily hit a half-size silhouette with any ammunition I tried. If you are new to owning a semi-auto handgun or if you simply want to get better, seek out quality instruction. That much I'm clear on. I've tried to do it by pushing down the yellow lever and by pulling the trigger but it won't remove. This is also what causes the gun to lock open when you run out of ammunition. I've only been able to do it a couple of times. Gun is parallel to the line of sight. 00 (easily found cheaper online). I've read that this is could be a grip issue, as in putting pressure on the slide lock when firing, but this is not happening in my case. Thanks to the good advice here, and a few videos on YouTube, I figured it out and after a few hundred rounds it became much easier to operate. M&p shield 9mm slide won't lock back slide. There is a notch in the slide that needs to be matched up with the slide stop lever. Given the groups that I eventually shot with the gun, I was able to train myself around the trigger.
What am I doing wrong?
