And oh boy, it's a creeping, compelling and ultimately satisfying read which I could not put down. Now this is spoiler free but if you haven't read the book, I might suggest stopping here, even though I give no names or specific events away, I COULD NOT BUY ONE HALF OF THE PREMISE OF THE BOOK AT THE END!! 'A fantastically addictive read' ABIGAIL DEAN. It's a timeless setting and explained why there were so many people there during the day too. One minute you can drink, the next minute you can't, then you can 'in moderation, ' then it's basically illegal! The way these storylines intertwine makes for a twisting thriller that explores the many different sides of pregnancy and parenthood, as well as the often fraught nature of adult friendships. I chose to read and review a free ARC copy of Greenwich Park. She looks very young—perhaps she just has one of those faces. That is until an irate Helen who has been pushed to breaking point confronts Rachel on the night of her bonfire party, and she finally leaves them. Do you feel all your questions have been answered at the end of the book? Helen is particularly protective about this pregnancy, having previously struggled with getting pregnant and then miscarrying. She has felt increasingly disconnected from Daniel who is spending more time at the office, lots of money on their renovations, and is receiving calls from the bank about remortgaging the house. Are there birds in your magnolia tree? There are so many layers to this plot that just keep peeling away throwing you into disarray as you attempt to unravel who is behind the trail of destruction that ensues. Rachel doesn't seem very maternal: she smokes, drinks, and professes little interest in parenthood. This is a volatile tale, one that takes the reader on an exciting journey, a psychological thriller that will set you on the edge of your seat.

Like the feeling of being on a cliff-top path, when the wind is just a little too strong at your back. When I think of you, as I often do, I always picture you in your kitchen, holding a mug with both hands, staring out of the window into your garden. Serena is pregnant too, and although she and Rory have signed up to childbirth classes with Helen and Daniel, Helen finds herself on her own when they don't show up. When Helen, finally pregnant after years of tragedy, attends her first antenatal class, she is expecting her loving architect husband to arrive soon after, along with her confident, charming brother Rory and his pregnant wife, the effortlessly beautiful Serena.
Helen's quiet judgments suggest a combination of pity, scorn, and envy for her new friend, who doesn't seem to be burdened by the same loss and desperation for the perfect family that has been plaguing Helen. Saying that though, this is a really great thriller filled with tension and an ominous sense of foreboding. I can't wait to read what Faulkner writes next. " Although Rachel appears the least maternal inclined woman in the class, the two forge an improbable friendship.
