Depending on their fundraising, some students are now enjoying as many as 10 new books. When children sign up for Book Blast at the Youth Desk, they are given a Book Blast Reading Record. Kindergarten student, Millie Gowdy and first grader, Devin Toney, were the fundraising leaders for their grade level. Are there fantastic beast books. From November 1st through December 9th, ARIS students collected cans to be donated to the Millbrook WELCOME center. Due to the generosity of students' families and friends, 4, 315 books will be going into Bramlett home libraries amounting to over $50, 000. ARIS families, friends, and even a few community businesses donated just over $19, 000 to purchase these books for the students. Kids love when Officer Angie stops by to chat over lunch. There is NO financial requirement of you. An additional $100 Book Blast shopping spree will be awarded to the student with the highest dollar amount of contributions in the school; so, all hands on deck!

NJES is the first school inside the Jackson County School System to participate in such an event. Contributions will be accepted until Sunday, October 16 at midnight. The goal for each student was to raise $100, which netted those reaching this benchmark at least 10 new books to take home and enjoy.
